Fixed fee per band, published on the services page. We quote from the brief, not from an hourly rate, and the number in the quote is the number on the invoice. If the work changes shape halfway — it happens — we re-quote before we do it, never after.

Sometimes. We run two projects at a time and there is usually a four to six week queue. If it is genuinely urgent, say so in the brief; we keep one week a quarter clear for the jobs that cannot wait, and we would rather tell you honestly that we are full.

About half our work is. Time zones are fine up to about six hours; beyond that we ask for one overlapping morning a week. Printed deliverables get harder — we will normally find you a local printer and specify against their stock rather than ship paper across an ocean.

The people on the studio page. There are four of us and we all draw. Nothing is subcontracted without telling you first, and if a specialist is needed — a photographer, a type designer, a structural engineer for a sign — they are named in the quote.

You will have seen it long before that point. We show work at the end of week one, on paper, when it is still cheap to change. If the direction is wrong we go again inside the fee once. If it is still wrong after that, the honest answer is that we are not the right studio and we will say so.

We design them and we build the ones that are mostly editorial — like this one. For anything with a database, a checkout or an app behind it we work with two development studios we trust and stay on as art direction.

Yes. Every project ends with a handover: working files, fonts with their licences in your name, export presets and a manual. We do not hold artwork hostage and we do not charge a release fee.
